Total number of employees of member companies
The main aim of Fedustria is to sustain and strengthen these industrial activities in our country. Fedustria performs three essential tasks: protecting the interests of member companies, providing them with services and disseminating information to them.
Fedustria represents some 10 product categories, which in many cases can be divided into sub-categories – e.g. in the field of textiles, textiles for interior applications, technical textiles, fashion textiles, textile improvement technologies (e.g. dyeing) and thread production (spinning); and, as regards woodworking and furniture: cabinets and chairs, wooden panels, wooden construction elements, wooden packaging and other miscellaneous products such as games, frames, brushes and mirrors.
In total, Fedustria represents some 2,000 production companies in the textile, woodworking and furniture industries, including 90% of SMEs active in these sectors. Their combined turnover is about €10,5 billion and they provide about 40,000 direct jobs (figures for 2013). Exports account for approximately 70% of turnover.
